Everton plotting ‘out-of-window’ move for Chelsea striker – could look to terminate his contract

|

Everton are eyeing an ‘out-of-window’ move for Chelsea striker, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang on a free transfer. The African could look to terminate his contract due to his reduced game time, according to recent reports.Β

Eyebrows were raised after Everton failed to complete a single signing during the January transfer window despite sitting in the relegation zone with less than half of the Premier League season left to play.Β

However, although they failed to sign anyone inside the window, the club have reportedly been looking to sign players outside the window.Β

The toffees were heavily linked with a move for free agent, Andre Ayew before he completed a move to Nottingham Forest last week.

According to Football Insider, Everton are considering an ‘out-of-window’ move for Chelsea striker, Pierre Emerick Aubameyang. The 33-year-old was left out of the blues’ squad for their 0-0 draw with Fulham on Friday night despite being fully fit and eligible for selection.

Due to his recent lack of game time, the report suggests that Aubameyang could look to terminate his contract, allowing him to move to another club.Β

Chelsea brought in the striker during the summer window after he spent the second half of last season in Spain with FC Barcelona.

Since returning to England, Aubameyang has only managed to score 3 goals in 17 appearances in all competitions. This could, perhaps, be the reason Graham Potter has limited his game time.Β
