“There would be mutiny”, “Unbelievably overrated” – Lots of Everton fans fume as £18m report emerges

A recent transfer report linking Everton with a move for an old Premier Leauge foe has angered plenty of supporters at Goodison Park this week.

Spanish news outlet Sport, via the Express, has claimed that Carlo Ancelotti is keen on bringing Barcelona flop Philippe Coutinho to Merseyside and that the Toffees have even made a loan offer of £18m upfront with £5m in add-ons.

This really hasn’t gone down well with fans.

Do you want to see Coutinho at Goodison next season?

Yes please!

No thanks!

No thanks!

Aside from the fact that the Brazillian playmaker used to ply his trade at arch-rivals Liverpool, many do not seem to see the point of paying such a humongous fee for a player that’s only going to be temporarily at the club.

Coutinho was described as “unbelievably overrated” which pretty much sums up the attitude amongst the Toffees faithful.

The 28-year-old has provided nine goals and eight assists this campaign whilst on loan to Bayern Munich, via Transfermarkt, yet the Bundesliga champions are unwilling to sign him permanently.

Here’s how fans have reacted to the news…
