Loads of Everton fans have been reacting to one of their reported transfer targets as a new report has emerged.
According to Calciomercato, Lyon winger Memphis Depay will not renew his contract at the Ligue 1 outfit with it set to expire next year, but he’ll only leave if their valuation of €30m (£27m) is met.
The Toffees along with AC Milan are cited with interest.
Depay was enjoying a very fruitful campaign before being struck down with a serious ACL injury back in December – per Transfermarkt, he had provided 14 goals and two assists in just 18 appearances.
Would Memphis Depay be an upgrade on Bernard?
100%
No!
This is rather an encouraging output from a player that can play anywhere along the front three, and at just 26 years of age, he still has plenty to offer at an elite level.
However, it remains to be seen exactly how the former Man Utd man will come back from such a bad injury.
And the thought of him lining up at Goodison Park has divided much of the Toffees faithful – some believe Depay is overhyped whilst others consider the wide man as an upgrade to the role.
Here’s what has been said…
Underachieving flash Harry.

Seems to be a bit of a mentalist. But we do have the diva whisperer working his magic here

On loan wit a view to a permanent deal. Coming back from a bad injury, but wen fit and back 100% would walk into our 11. Scores and assists 👍

Out of our range I’d imagine and not one of the 2 most important positions that need tight finances to be focused on.
We can’t have another summer like the last one where we failed spectacularly at CB…..a position we need along with CM.— Matt (@africansunset73) June 15, 2020
Be well happy with this…

How is he going to be after injury though? If he comes back good as new then he’d be a great signing imo! Would have to ditch one of Bernard or Iwobi though to accommodate him…
