Everton midfielder is an injury doubt, has ‘50%’ chance of facing Norwich

|

Fabian Delph is an injury doubt ahead of Saturday’s meeting with Norwich City and has a ‘50%’ chance of facing the Canaries, according to Premier Injuries. The 30-year-old has been out of action with a hamstring injury for nearly three weeks. His last outing came in Everton’s 1-1 draw with Tottenham (November 3).

Delph’s hamstring injury caused him to miss Everton’s 2-1 win over Southampton (November 9), England’s 7-0 win over Montenegro (November 14) and England’s 4-0 win over Kosovo (November 17). He could return after the international break, but it remains to be seen whether he’s fit to start over the weekend.

What will the result be on Saturday?

Since joining from Manchester City in July, Delph has made 10 appearances in all competitions for Everton, seven of which came in the Premier League. The England international made his debut in September and had been a regular up until November.

In his absence, Marco Silva may have to start Morgan Schneiderlin and Tom Davies in midfield. A late fitness test could be given before a decision is made on Delph’s availability. His lack of playing time this month might result in a place on the bench.
