Everton have made a verbal proposal to French side Rennes in a bid to sign winger Kamaldeen Sulemana, with the 20-year-old reportedly valued around £30 million, according to recent reports.
The toffees look set to announce the appointment of Sean Dyche as their new manager after the sacking of Frank Lampard on Monday evening following a bad run of results.
There is now, however, less than 48 hours until the end of the January transfer window and Everton are yet to complete a signing.
With Anthony Gordon completing his move to Newcastle United for around £45 million yesterday, the blues now have some extra funds to attempt to get some new faces through the door before the deadline.
According to David Ornstein, Everton have made a verbal proposal to Rennes in a bid to sign Ghanean winger Kamaldeen Sulemana. The Ligue 1 side value the 20-year-old at around £30 million.
🚨 Everton made verbal offer on Sunday for permanent signing of Rennes winger Kamaldeen Sulemana. Would see #EFC reinvest some Gordon proceeds in direct replacement. #StadeRennais seeking ~€30m for 20yo who wants to go. #SaintsFC still keen @TheAthleticFC https://t.co/0Hz6KEuAhN

Fellow Premier League side Southampton also reportedly had a bid valued around £20 million rejected for Sulemana a couple of weeks ago.
Folliwing the rejected bud, the Saints seemed to turn their back on any potential deal with Rennes, instead opting to sign Mislav Orsic, meaning Everton will face less competition for his signature.
Since joining Rennes in 2021, Sulemana has scored 6 goals in 47 appearances in all competitions. However, he has recently lost his place in the starting lineup and would probably be open to a potential move.
