On Monday evening we welcomed manager Marco Silva’s former club Watford to Goodison Park, with Everton playing out a 2-2 draw with the side.

Richarlison got on the scoresheet against his former employers, but having held the advantage a Seamus Coleman own goal and a further strike from the visitors in the second half turned the game on its head. Deep into stoppage-time (six minutes) summer signing Lucas Digne had us back on level terms as he struck from a set piece.

Taking a point from the affair it keeps us going in 2018/19 and we sit in seventh place in the Premier League table, now unbeaten in two with two draws.

The aim will be to get back to winning ways this coming Saturday, but that is easier said than done given we travel to the Etihad Stadium to face top of the table Manchester City.

Midfielder Idrissa Gueye was replaced by Cenk Tosun in the 71st minute and Physioroom.com now have him down as a potential doubt and although no timeframe is given for a return, they tag him as having a groin injury so depending on the severity, it obviously brings his participation in the game into doubt.

Between the time of writing and sticking in the timer, hopefully, they’ll be some more clarity on whatever the issue was for the 29-year-old.
