Everton handed ‘significant boost’ in hopes of signing winger

Everton have been handed a ‘significant boost’ in their hunt to sign Manchester United winger Anthony Elanga thanks to recent transfer ongoings.

Everton have been severely lacking goals so far this season, having only managed to score 14 goals in 18 Premier League games.

Reinforcements in attacking areas are believed to be the blues’ main priority during the January transfer window, with negotiations reportedly ongoing for the likes of Arnaut Danjuma from Villareal and Anthony Elanga from Manchester United.

However, Manchester United are also reportedly close to signing the Dutch striker Wout Weghorst on loan from Burnley, potentially allowing the club to loan Anthony Elanga to Everton.

Whilst a potential deal to bring the Swede to Goodison Park still seems far from complete, this deal has definitely given the toffees a significant boost in their hopes of completing a deal.

Elanga is yet to score in the Premier League so far this season, but he did manage 5 goal contributions in his ‘breakthrough season’ at Old Trafford during his last campaign.

The 20-year-old produced some important moments for Manchester United last season, such as his important winner in a 1-1 draw with Atletico Madrid in the Champions League last season. He will, more than likely, need to produce some more important moments if he is to aid Everton’s relegation battle.

Should Everton sign Elanga?
