As we know Ronald Koeman has confirmed an interest in Charlton’s Ademola Lookman but another attacking player who has been linked with a switch to Everton as the transfer window approaches is Saido Berahino.

It’s been claimed by the Daily Mail that Everton have made an ‘official enquiry’ to West Brom as to the availability of Berahino – who will almost certainly leave the Baggies at the end of the season when his deal ends.

With a deal for Lookman – according to that Mail report – almost finalised for £11m Koeman wants Berahino as he’s Premier League ready and could make an immediate impact in the topflight. Whereas the Charlton youngster would have to adapt – in fact he could return to the Valley on loan anyway.

Berahino could come to Goodison Park if Everton can fend off reported rival interest from Stoke, West Ham and Newcastle – Roma, Inter Milan and Nice are also credited with interest.

However, these clubs could sign the 23 year old for as little as £300,000 on a pre-contract agreement in the summer. Premier League clubs would need to agree compensation with West Brom if a deal wasn’t agreed in January.

I wonder if Berahino is one of those players merely speculated with a move to Everton or if Koeman actually does hold an interest?
