According to the Liverpool Echo, Everton are once again trying to sell Sandro Ramirez and are running out of time to find a buyer. The 25-year-old has been on the periphery at Goodison Park for two years, but no club wants to sign him permanently.

Sandro has been told that he’s surplus to requirements, but we’ve only had tentative enquiries rather than anything serious, so he isn’t moving anywhere yet. The Spaniard has one year remaining on his deal, however, so we need to cash in while he still has value or else we risk losing him for nothing in 2021.

Which club did Everton loan Cenk Tosun out to in January?

What went wrong for Sandro on Merseyside?

Poor form and a subsequent lack of a playing time. The 25-year-old has made only 16 appearances in all competitions since joining from Malaga in 2017, scoring one goal.

In his 16 games, Sandro amassed only 277 minutes of Premier League football, created one chance, had one shot on target, was dispossessed every 46 minutes, had an unsuccessful touch every 18 minutes and misplaced 20% of his passes, as per WhoScored.

Sandro’s last appearance in an Everton shirt came in August 2018 and he’s spent the last two years out on loan – Sevilla (January 30, 2018 – June 30, 2018), Real Sociedad (August 30, 2018 – June 30, 2019) and Real Valladolid (July 2, 2019 – June 20, 2020).

The Spaniard is now behind Richarlison, Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Moise Kean in the pecking order, so there’s no way back for him here.

Why aren’t clubs making a move?

Sandro needs to be sold before his contract expires next year, but we’re struggling to find a club that will take him off our hands. The 25-year-old’s stock is low and his wage demands are high (£85k-per-week/£4.4m-a-year), so it’s easy to see why clubs are hesitant to make a move.

In the Premier League, the summer transfer window opened on July 27 and will shut on October 5, so there’s 35 days remaining for us to get rid of Sandro. Liverpool Echo believe he’ll return to Spain given how many times he’s been loaned back of late, but there’s no interest from his homeland just yet.
