Everton are set to snub any approach for striker Moise Kean during the summer transfer window amid interest from Juventus, according to Corriere dello Sport via Sport Witness.

Kean endured a challenging maiden campaign at Goodison Park following his £25.1million move last summer, that could eventually see Juventus bank £27.5m.

The forward managed to start just eight games across all competitions, with Marco Silva cautious to award the 20-year-old many opening roles before the Portuguese tactician was replaced by Carlo Ancelotti, who harboured similar concerns.

Issues with Kean’s attitude also led to the 6ft Vercelli-born striker dropped from the squad that travelled to Southampton in November, after he arrived late for a team meeting for a second time since his summer switch.

A lack of opportunities on the field ultimately limited Kean’s window to find the back of the net, resulting in the forward striking just two goals and penning only two assists over his combined 33 outings – all of which came in his 29 Premier League appearances.

Kean broke his duct in front of the goal against Newcastle United in a 2-2 draw in January but had to wait until a starting role against would-be relegated AFC Bournemouth in a 3-1 loss on the final day of the campaign to lash home again.

His struggles to adapt to life in England led to speculation that a return to Juventus could be on the cards, however this has now been refuted with reports stating that Everton chiefs are refusing to consider any avenue for the Italy forward to leave.

The club have no intentions of granting Kean either a loan or permanent move back to Turin, even though it is alleged he and his family have asked agent Mino Raiola to facilitate a move back to his native Italy as he has not settled in Britain.

Kean has also been linked with a potential move back to Italy but with AS Roma that would have seen the forward move to the Stadio Olimpico on a one-year loan whilst defender Alessandro Florenzi headed the other way, but those alleged negotiations now seem unlikely.

If Everton chiefs are refusing to consider all possible avenues for Kean to leave the club this summer, it would come as a huge sign of Ancelotti’s support ahead of the new season and show that the boss is intending to tackle the campaign with his compatriot playing a key role.

Kean will need to show far more potential to thrive in England under Ancelotti when the upcoming term begins, though, as the forward offered little to our attack in 2019/20 with SofaScore noting an average of just 0.9 shots and 0.3 key balls from an average 29 minutes a game in the Premier League.

His limited game time also led to just 11.2 touches, 3.3 accurate passes, 0.9 successful dribbles and 1.4 ground duels won a match, all of which he will need to improve on to avoid his potential £27.5m transfer goes down in the history books alongside £5.25m, £65,000-per-week disaster Sandro Ramirez who we are now struggling to offload.
