Everton’s season got underway with a 1-0 win against MFK Ruzomberok last week.

Now we move forward and go again against the same Slovakian opposition in the Europa League this evening.

That third round first leg qualifier, obviously having victory secured thanks to Leighton Baines’ second half deflected effort; had seen Ronald Koeman start with this side at Goodison Park.

What changes do you think Koeman, working on the assumption he has to make any, unless enforced, could the boss make to the starting XI when the Blues come up against Ruzomberok at the Stadion MFK Ruzomberok (this evening, 7:45pm kick off) for this European meeting?

Perhaps it isn’t clear at the moment what changes will be made but the nearer we get to the game it should with possible injures and knocks, not apparent at this point, becoming known. Obviously it goes without saying a strong XI would be expected.

A number of those above, who feel they’re first-team regulars if you will; would think they’ll have more than a chance of keeping a place but it has already been confirmed by Koeman club record signing Jordan Pickford WILL start in goal.

Koeman told the Official Website: ‘We know we need to make decisions on the team and it is not only about the goalkeeper. It’s still the pre-season but we can’t call it pre-season because we’re playing in an important game tomorrow. Pickford will start the game.’

Any doubts surrounding Wayne Rooney, who has had a minor groin issue, have been laid to rest too with his involvement, well, at least his fitness also confirmed.

‘Wayne had some groin issues in the past few days but he trained normally yesterday and this morning,’ added Koeman. ‘He is fit to play tomorrow.’
