Match of the Day pundit Gary Lineker took to social media following Sunday’s clash between Everton and Crystal Palace at Goodison Park.

Two goals in three minutes at the end of the affair gave manager Marco Silva another victory in 2018/19 as substitutes Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Cenk Tosun found the net each to give us the three points.

A major talking point from the game was the decision by the referee to award a penalty as he adjudged Seamus Coleman to have tripped Wilfried Zaha in the box and as Luka Milivojevic took a rather soft shot from 12 yards, an outstretched leg from England goalkeeper Jordan Pickford protected the clean sheet on the day and helped give us the foundation to take victory.

Building on the role he played for England in the October international break, it was almost the perfect return to Premier League action for the 24-year-old although it is fair to say you can say the stop was lucky, but penalties are always a lottery and luck is either with you or against you.

Make the most of it when it’s with you – and Pickford is developing somewhat of a habit of getting the luck from 12 yards and that’s no bad trick to have up your sleeve as a goalkeeper.
