Defender set for Everton exit after agreeing deal with EFL club

Everton defender, Reece Welch looks set to complete a loan move to League 1 side MK Dons until the end of the season with the transfer deadline fast approaching, according to recent reports

The deadline for the January transfer window is just a matter of hours away and, as of yet, Everton are yet to sign a player.

New manager, Sean Dyche was reportedly told that he could make ‘3 or 4’ signings in the window but has so far not managed to make any.

However, the blues have had their fair share of outgoings, with Joe Anderson making a permanent move to Sunderland in the Championship this morning. The could see another departure very shortly.

According to Pete O’Rourke, Everton academy defender, Reece Welch is close to joining League 1 side MK Dons after agreeing to a deal with them in the last hours.

Welch made his debut for Everton during last season’s 4th round FA Cup tie with Boreham Wood at Goodison Park, with the 19-year-old coming on as a late substitute in the game for Frank Lampard’s side in a 2-0 win.

He has since made 2 more appearances for the toffees, even getting his first start for the club on their EFL Cup trip to Fleetwood Town.

The Englishman has been a prominent starter in Everton’s under-21s set-up for the last two seasons and has even made 3 appearances for the England under-20s.
