Danjuma snubs Everton for Tottenham Hotspur – The full story?

|

Arnaut Danjuma was expected to turn up for training this morning at Everton’s training complex Finch Farm but in a remarkable u-turn, Danjuma is now in talks to join Tottenham Hotspur.

Yesterday, SkySportsNews reported that Everton had signed the forward on loan from Villarreal until the end of the season, beating PSV Eindhoven and his former club Bournemouth and even tweeted last night with former Everton relegation hero Kevin Campbell wishing him luck.

This afternoon on Twitter, Everton podcaster Benj hosted a Twitter space with The Bobble and they explained what exactly has happened with the entire Danjuma situation. (Part 1, Part 2)

In the TwitterSpace it is said, Danjuma was in Liverpool where he completed his medical, he then travelled to Finch Farm on Sunday where he completed all the media duties, talking to Everton’s social media team about why he joined Everton, photos in Everton’s training kit, even meeting Dominic Calvert-Lewin.

Whilst this is all taking place, Everton are finalising all the paperwork, dotting the i’s and crossing the T’s and under the impression that Danjuma’s agent is doing his job by sending the ‘registration form’ which only the agent can do.

Yesterday when Frank Lampard was sacked by Everton, they (Everton) spoke with Danjuma to explain the situation and assure him that David Moyes was not taking over, as this was a worry for him (DailyStar) and told his agent that they had sent off the registration form and all the FA now needs is the agent’s copy to confirm and they would see him at training tomorrow (this morning)

This morning, Danjuma was expected to report for training but never showed up. Everton chased up his whereabouts and it is at this stage that they realise that the FA never got the agent’s copy of his registration form before finding out that not only is Danjuma on his way to London, but already in London holding talks with Spurs over a loan move.

For once, Everton have done everything they are supposed to do. Unfortunately for them, Danjuma and his agent in particular have snaked Everton.

On a positive, it seems we have dodged a bullet.
