‘Composed and focused’ – These Everton fans react to Goodison flop’s international outing

|

Cenk Tosun has been a flop at Goodison Park, but the Turkish striker has impressed fans with his efforts on the international stage.

The 27-year-old made his 37th outing for the Crescent-Stars on Monday night in a 4-0 rout of Group H rivals Moldova, with our man bagging a brace in the Euro 2020 qualifier.

Tosun had drawn a blank in his previous game for his country, coming last Friday against Albania, but had assisted Burak Yilmaz’s goal to open proceedings in the 21st minute.

Moldova would be his victim, though, with his strikes on the 26th and 53rd minutes moving his international account to 13 – Tosun’s brace were also his first goals in a Euro qualifying game.

The pick of the night for our fringe forward was most definitely his opening goal, as he fired home a left-foot rocket into the top corner of the net, having drifted into the centre of the box unchallenged to meet Yilmaz’s cross.

His second goal was also impressive, as he fought for space at the back post to head home into an empty net his side’s third of the game, after Alexei Coselev failed to follow the flight of the ball.

When his strikes were shared on the R/Everton Reddit page, here’s how you reacted…
