Loads of Everton fans have been reacting on social media, after Sky Sports claimed Carlo Ancelotti is interested in signing Dalian Yifang winger Yannick Ferreira Carrasco.

The Belgian is one of several players thought to be on the boss’ radar this month, with Sky noting that outlets across Europe have put forward potential January arrivals at Goodison Park following the Italian’s hiring.

Ancelotti is thought to be most looking toward making a loan move for Real Madrid midfielder James Rodriguez, though Sky note that he could request that Director of Football Marcel Brands makes permanent offers to sign Juventus’ Adrien Rabiot or Dalian Yifang’s Carrasco.

Carrasco has been plying his trade in China since leaving Atletico Madrid in the winter 2018 market, and has scored 24 goals and been credited with 17 assists in all competitions since.

The 26-year-old had been linked with a return to Europe last summer amid interest from Arsenal, though Yifang demanded a fee in excess of £25million to release the 41-cap international.

Carrasco had expressed a desire to return to Europe ahead of Euro 2020, and stated last January that he would be willing to take a pay cut on the €10million-a-year (£164,771-p/w) he earns in China following talks with AC Milan and links with Arsenal and Manchester United.

No move has been forthcoming yet, and Carrasco remained a part of Roberto Martinez’s Belgium side during their European qualifiers with one goal and four assists in seven appearances.
