With Jason Burt of the Telegraph claiming the other day that the deal for Barcelona left-back Lucas Digne was now a done deal – plenty of Everton fans have been reacted to the news on social media.

The 25-year-old La Liga title-winning fullback has long been linked with a move to Goodison Park this transfer window as we looked for a long-term replacement for Leighton Baines as he comes to the twilight of his career and it has felt like it would only be a matter of time before he was officially announced.
The above tweet and a twist in the press this last weekend has only strengthened that belief but as I type the deal remains unofficial and unannounced. That hasn’t stopped some from celebrating the potential capture, especially as it enables fans to focus on a possible positive this summer and not our run of performances or results in the pre-season campaign so far.
The expectation seems to be that the deal will be announced either later today or Tuesday it seems.
