Everton boss David Moyes made a shock bid to hijak Leighton Baines` move to Sunderland last night – by offering less for the Wigan left-back.
Moyes made an official offer from the Goodison club`s American training base for the England Under 21 star and is trying to get him for £4.5million in instalments.
How can Moyes seriously think that Wigan will accept them terms we aren’t even paying in one go.
Its a sorry state of affairs when Sunderland are outbidding a team like Everton. Sunderland have also spent big this summer and Everton have spent a mere 4 million on Jags.
Surely we must be asking ourselves where all the money is going because its most certainly not going to help Moyes maintain our league position.
In my opinion Kenwright is to blame for this. How much money have we been given by TV companies such as Sky and where has it gone.
Boro are also favourites to sign another top Everton target Alan Smith.
If we do not sign some more quality players before the end of the transfer window then we will struggle. Moyes must not be blamed for this he has dragged a group of second rate players kicking and screaming to European football for two seasons and even finishing fourth. Moyes simply hasn’t got the financial support that other managers have.
We will have to wait and see about Baines but I wouldn’t hold your breath
