Details have been revealed about the capacity at Bramley Moor Dock and it seems safe to say that we’re going to have a decent crowd watching the Blues – though it could be better.

I’ll miss Goodison once we move out and it’ll take some effort to replicate the atmosphere but I’ve got a good feeling about the new place.

It’s in an exciting part of the city and Farhad Moshiri and Bill Kenwright have had some key details about the ground disclosed from an earlier meeting with Everton Shareholders’ Association Chairman John Blain.

They met at the start of this month but the details are only just coming out and you can find more at the EFCSA site here.

The takeaway, though, is this from Blain:

“On the hot topic of capacity, Farhad implied during the meeting that the capacity of the new stadium would be in the range 52,000 – 55,000 which, as I’m sure you would agree, is far too low for the majority of Evertonians. That said the capacity has not yet been finalised and the Club continue to review a range of capacity options in the Dan Meis designs.”

The Verdict

Certainly, we’re going to have a ground as good as any in the league and that is only right when you consider what we’re aiming to be.

I’m really looking forward to the new place but it’d be nice to squeeze as many people into it as possible to make it really worthwhile.

Thoughts, Blues? Let me know!
