Our Deadline Day signings will not be ready to play this weekend as we head to Wolves on the first matchweek of the Premier League.

The day was hectic to say the very least as a number of players came to the club as we got very close to the wire.

In the end, Bernard, Yerry Mina and Andre Gomes all arrived but none will feature this weekend as we head to Molineux.

Indeed, Marco Silva has revealed in his press conference that the new faces will undergo a bit more pre-season training before being deemed ready to compete.

He said:

“Like you expect more or less, it isn’t easy to sign and them to play in the squad.

“We need to respect our players. We need to give them time to come in and prove their value.”

They’ve got a bit of time to adapt, then, and it’ll be interesting to see exactly what we see from them once they are ready to get into the side.

Certainly, of the three I am most excited to see Bernard play as he is new to one of the big leagues in Europe and should be itching to show what he can do.
