As quoted by the Liverpool Echo in his latest press conference, Marco Silva has revealed why Mo Besic’s move to Middlesbrough did not go through yesterday.
The midfielder has evidently been told he is not in the plans of the Portuguese and that it would be best if he moved on.
Middlesbrough, then, were looking to get a permanent deal over the line yesterday but it didn’t go through despite him knowing the club after being there last season.
These things can happen of course, though, and Silva revealed all earlier today:
“With Besic something happened between the club and the agent.
“Everything was agreed between the clubs.”
The agent of Besic appears to have stopped this move going through, then, and it remains to be seen if Boro make a loan bid for the player.
EFL clubs can sign players on loan until the end of the month and with them knowing the player and clearly wanting him, it’d be no shock if they went after him again.
Let’s see what occurs – though I’d be happy for him to stay as a squad option to be honest.
