“A Fabulous Acquisition” – Pundit Hails Key Everton Man & It Isn’t Who You Think

|

With significant improvement in Everton’s transfer strategy following the arrival of Director of Football Marcel Brands to Goodison Park, it’s fair to say he quickly got his feet under the table and very quickly won over the fans with his attitude and approach in general.

“Superb Gesture” “Class” – Brands Unites Liverpool, Well, At Least For A Minute

Simple touches like the above have already left the Dutchman as a firm fan favourite and former player and now pundit, Danny Mills, decided to shower him with praise earlier this week for the quality and calibre of player he’s been helping manager Marco Silva to attract to the club as we continue to search for improvements and look to push further up towards the top of the Premier League.

With Moise Kean and Jean-Philippe Gbamin being the latest two following on from the likes of Yerry Mina, Andre Gomes and Richarlison (not to mention others), Mills’ praise is spot on here for me as he took to his usual column on Football Insider.

“Marcel Brands has been a superb acquisition – not a lot of people knew a lot about him when he was brought into the club but sometimes that’s the sign of a good technical director. He’s typically Dutch, likes to see players play. Likes to see those principles that Dutch players have; technical ability, game awareness, game knowledge, hard work. The fundamentals of what football is all about. He’s been a fabulous acquisition and that’s what he’s done before. A tactical awareness is what he wants to see and that’s massive, to put yourself in the right place at the right time.”

He’s certainly earning his wages at the club, now to start the campaign with three points!
