It would seem as though our prediction will come true after all, as Yakubu Aiyegbeni could very well be paraded this week along with Manuel Fernandes after Middlesbrough agreed a record £11.25 million fee with Everton for the player’s services.
The deal looked dead in the water over the week end as Everton could not find common ground with Boro over a realistic transfer fee.
This has been rectified however, and the player could be available following a medical and agreeing personal terms for saturday’s visit of Blackburn.
The Yak is widely expected to take the number 9 shirt, with Fernandes preferring the number 37 after being offered the number 10.
