The English and international transfer windows are in full swing now, with deals for the hottest talents in world football being completed around the globe.
Marco Silva and Director of Football Marcel Brands have so far only been able to add a back-up goalkeeper to our squad in former Huddersfield Town ace Jonas Lossl, however, while allowing long-time club servant Phil Jagielka to move on with his contract expiring at the end of the month.
We have also seen Ashley Williams released, thankfully, and Jonjoe Kenny has completed a loan move to FC Schalke 04 for the 2019/20 season.
No big names leaving the Toffees on a permanent basis is always a welcome notion, especially when the likes of Richarlison and Idrissa Gana Gueye have continued to be linked with a route out of Merseyside this year.
Michael Keane and Jordan Pickford have even seen their Blues careers cast into doubt during 2019, with reports suggesting the England pair could be sold this summer.
Names like Romelu Lukaku, Mikel Arteta and Wayne Rooney have all moved on since the turn of the century, though, and some Everton supporters clearly still rue the day the board allowed the likes of that trio to leave Goodison Park.
Here’s what these supporters had to say when the Liverpool Echo asked which player sale hurt the most…
Pienaar going Spurs got me…dunno why

Definitely when Duncan Ferguson left for Newcastle, mainly because no 1 saw it coming and only had my Everton top with his name on back for about a month lol

When lukaku left, I was like good riddance, always felt he looked down his noise at Everton!

Rooney by a country mile. We had a genuinely World Class talent for the first time in a generation and we had to sell his best years to balance the books.

Alan Ball joining Arsenal then Rooney
