It’s been a mixed international break for Everton players representing their countries, yet no player has received more stick so far than Gylfi Sigurdsson.

The Everton number 10 missed from the spot in Iceland’s 2-0 win over Andorra, bringing Sigurdsson’s missed penalty tally in all competitions since joining the Merseyside club up to five as numbers from Transfermarkt show.

With Sigurdsson having somewhat of a reputation now for missing more than scoring from the penalty spot, plenty of Everton supporters on social media jumped on the scapegoat train to mock the Icelandic international for his latest miss from 12-yards out, with some fans questioning why the former Swansea City star is even taking them if he misses more than he scores.

A few of Everton fans weren’t impressed with this latest hiccup from the 30-year-old playmaker…

Sigurdsson’s 2019/20 season has been a poor one for the playmaker’s standards, with numbers from Transfermarkt showing that the number 10 has only managed one goal and one assist in 10 games this campaign.
