Everton fans have had to endure years of inconsistency after David Moyes left for Manchester United in 2013, seeing a number of managers succeed the Scottish boss in the dugout.

Roberto Martinez lasted three years at the helm before being replaced by Ronald Koeman, who had 58 games in charge before his dismissal last November – which then led to Sam Allardyce taking the reigns until the end of the season.

Allardyce was extremely unpopular during his short stint at Goodison Park for playing a negative style of football and fans were relieved to see the back of him in the summer, when the Toffees finally landed former Watford boss Marco Silva.

Speaking on BT Sport on Saturday, Allardyce hit back at suggestions he adopts a negative brand and stated he does not have to defend himself. After the clip was shared on Twitter, plenty of fans waded in with their take.

We have gathered some of the best reactions below.
