Hirving Lozano will join either Everton or Manchester United, according to the Mexican winger’s former agent.

Everton were heavily linked to Lozano during the summer transfer window ahead of the 2019/20 Premier League season, reportedly having made several bids for him over the window. It has been suggested that Everton were seen to be such strong admirers of the Mexican due to his relationship with the new Director of Football at Everton, Marcel Brands.

Brands brought Lozano to PSV Eindhoven from Pechuca in Mexico in 2017. He went on to score 40 goals in just under 80 games for the dutch giants, becoming the star of the team and playing a pivotal role for his national team in the 2018 World Cup.

Despite Everton’s strong interest, Lozano eventually ended up moving to Italian club, Napoli for around £40 million and Everton would end up signing Alex Iwobi from Arsenal instead.

Although on the surface, Lozano’s move to Napoli did seem somewhat exciting, the winger has not managed to recapture the form he found in the Netherlands. He would only manage 20 league goals across 4 seasons to date and has fallen out of favour with manager Luciano Spalletti, so a move away from the club makes sense.

In an exclusive interview with Radio CRC during the broadcast Si Gonfia la Rete Lozano’s ex-agent Alessandro Monfrecola stated: [via Liverpool Echo]

“Next June, Lozano will leave in my opinion, he has never hidden that he aspired to the top English clubs.”

He added:

“I think he could land in Manchester United or Everton.”

With Everton not signing a winger in the transfer window prior to the current season, there is surely space in the squad for another winger seeing as the club also lost Richarlison to Tottenham Hotspur earlier in the summer.
