Many Everton supporters have been reacting on social media after the Toffees announced our first capture of the summer in former Huddersfield Town goalkeeper Jonas Lossl.

The Terriers released the 30-year-old from Kolding, Denmark following their relegation to the Championship, having only signed the shot-stopper permanently from Bundesliga outfit FSV Mainz 05 the summer before on a one-year deal.

He has now agreed to move to Goodison Park on a three-year deal, and will arrive on Merseyside once his contract at the John Smith’s Stadium officially comes to an end on July 1.

According to Danish outlet Ekstra Bladet, Lossl will earn 100million Swedish Krona over the course of his contract here, which equates to £8.2million or £52,880-a-week – just shy of double his £28k-a/w at Huddersfield.

With the Terriers, Lossl featured in 31 of their Premier League games on route to relegation, and kept five clean sheets, while conceding 54 times.

He did, however, finish the campaign with the joint-second-most punches of any English top-flight ‘keeper with 19 – only behind Fulham’s Sergio Rice (21). The 1-cap Denmark international also ranked joint-fourth for high claims (with 24), 13th for saves (88) and saved one penalty.

He will likely be arriving as the new understudy for Jordan Pickford, who ranked eleventh for punches (13), high claims (14), and saves (94).

So when the club’s official Twitter account shared that Lossl will join the Toffees for the next three seasons, here’s how some fans reacted…
