Everton have found it difficult to find consistency in recent seasons but hope has been restored through the early months of Marco Silva’s reign.
The former Watford boss has endured a turbulent start to life at Goodison Park but positive signs have emerged from his tenure so far, which includes lifting a trophy in midweek – although beating Gor Mahia in the Sport Pesa Trophy is hardly a major honour.
Still, many fans have pointed out that Silva has got his hands on more than rival boss Jurgen Klopp has with Liverpool and enjoyed the collapse of the Reds in the Champions League this week – which leaves last season’s defeated finalists with a stern challenge in their final two group matches.
Liverpool suffered a shock defeat to Red Star Belgrade on Tuesday and it is fair to say Everton fans on social media enjoyed the result. We have gathered some of the best reactions below.
