Former Everton striker Kevin Campbell isn’t slow in coming forward to give his opinions about the club on social media and on Tuesday morning he urged the club to tie Andre Gomes down to a permanent deal, presumably in the January transfer window or most definitely when the summer window opens.

The 25-year-old Barcelona man is on loan with us for the entirety of the 2018/19 campaign and most believe we do have a permanent buy clause in the deal for the Portuguese talent who has quickly begun winning over the fans – and Campbell – with his showings for manager Marco Silva.

Even though injury kept him out of action until the later stages of October, he’s established himself in the starting XI now and made his sixth appearance for us in the Merseyside derby against Liverpool on Sunday afternoon.

Campbell was giving his response following a Liverpool Echo piece where they claimed his release fee was 100million Euros, but they also pointed to the fact that Yerry Mina also apparently had a similar release fee in his deal, but he made the switch for a little over £27million, so that certainly shouldn’t put us off.

Incredibly easy to see Campbell’s line of thinking here.
