Many Everton supporters have been reacting on social media after the Daily Mail claimed Andre Gomes had rejected West Ham United’s approach.

Hammers boss Manuel Pellegrini had pinpointed the Portuguese midfielder as his priority signing, and attempted to strike a deal with FC Barcelona at £20million after the Catalan side rejected an initial £18m bid for their outcasted midfielder.

Gomes, though, is not thought to be keen on a move to the London Stadium, while a move to Tottenham Hotspur is now believed to be unlikely despite Mauricio Pochettino’s side courting the FC Porto product.

Instead, it is suggested once more that 25-year-old Gomes is prepared to join us on a permanent deal, having enjoyed an encouraging season at Goodison Park while on loan.

Director of Football Marcel Brands, however, is still yet to approach Barcelona over the potential of a permanent transfer, despite the door being wide open for the Dutchman to strike while the iron is hot.

Brands may be holding off, though, as it is claimed Barcelona may demand more than £30million for Gomes, and previous reports suggested the 57-year-old intends to use the 29-cap ace’s intent to stay at Goodison as a bargaining chip.

When the report of Gomes rejecting West Ham’s advances was shared on Twitter, this is how these Everton fans reacted…
