Seamus Coleman came in for a lot of criticism from supporters after underperforming in Everton’s 2-0 defeat to Sheffield United. The 30-year-old has been a regular at right-back, wearing the captain’s armband in his last five Premier League appearances, but fans want him out of the starting eleven.
Coleman a weak link I’m afraid. And not a captain but who is? Digne consistently best player but vocal enough? Davies should be playing too. FFS where’s my beer #EFC #COYB

Coleman needs replacing as he cannot cross and gets dragged in leaving acres for the wide man. Keane and Mina are too slow as a pair. Gylfi and Schneiderlin are not good enough. We have no proven goal scorer. As always this team requires major surgery #EFC

Yet the players in the squad not fit to wear the shirt aren’t on that list ????
Coleman
Walcott
Schneiderlin— Ste (@ste_henry) September 22, 2019
Gylfi, Schneiderlin, Coleman, Keane, Delph, Walcott, Tosun, Digne all worse than those 3.

I don’t think he’s going anywhere mate, but what he does need to do to help himself is bin the ridiculous formation & drop Coleman, Gylfi & Schneiderlin.

Against United, Coleman played for 71 minutes before being hooked off by Marco Silva from Theo Walcott. He made 90 touches, completed 84.4% of his 45 passes, whipped in five crosses, made one clearance, was fouled twice and made six successful dribbles.
The Everton defender failed to create a chance, win an aerial duel, have a shot, make a tackle or make an interception on Saturday. He was taken off in the second-half and is now being described as a ‘weak link’. Silva’s men are currently 14th in the league and are closer to the relegation zone than the top-four.
Everton have lost three of their last four games and haven’t kept a clean sheet for over a month – 1-0 vs Watford on August 17. Djibril Sidibe was signed on loan from AS Monaco to provide cover for Coleman, so he might be an option if Silva wants to mix things up. Time will tell.
