“We Deserved The Three Points” – Silva Thrilled With Three Wins On The Spin

|

Sunday afternoon’s Premier League kickoff between Everton and Arsenal at Goodison Park proved that our form under manager Marco Silva was now really on the turn.

With back to back victories going into the game on home soil, confidence was boosted that fans would see further improvements with hopes high that we would now end the 2018/19 campaign on a high.

Phil Jagielka’s goal ten minutes into the first half was enough to return all three points in a 1-0 victory and in fairness, the only major disappointment from the day came from the fact that the win wasn’t more convincing on paper given the sheer amount of chances we had on the day.

1-0 was enough though and it’s now three wins on the spin for Silva as we continue to put our festive disappointments behind us.

Speaking to the BBC following the final whistle, a pleased Silva told the press.

“Really, really happy. We deserved the three points. The chances we created, we should score more goals. It is a fantastic win – one more clean sheet. That’s the spirit I like, the desire to win every challenge. Earlier in the season we lost some confidence, we had a break and after we worked really well. It’s the same team with more confidence.”

Given Jagielka was only announced as being in the squad 15 minutes ahead of kickoff, credit to him.
