The Word On The Tweet

‘We are that bad’, ‘If we’re lucky’ – These fans respond to contentious question about Everton’s season

|

Everton continued their downward spiral at the weekend with a twelfth defeat of the season, this time coming against Watford, and few fans are confident of a change of form.

The doubt has been shared on social media after one fan raised the question on Twitter to see how many points the Goodison Park faithful feel the Toffees could end the campaign on, with 33 already on the board after 27 games.

Marco Silva’s 33 point tally as Everton manager is currently enough to keep the Blues in the top half of the table, but, having played a game more, they could drop to 12th if West Ham, Bournemouth and Leicester City all win their games in hand.

One fan who responded to the question quipped that Everton could actually end the season with 23 points – ten fewer than they currently have – as punishment for tapping up Silva while he was Watford’s manager.

The Football Association have not currently given the Toffees any points deduction for their approach made when Ronald Koeman was sacked at Goodison Park, but the investigation is still underway with the Hornets pushing for an answer.

Others who replied to the query also shared their doubt of many, or any, more points being put on the board…
