“Way worst signings than Bolasie” – These Everton fans discuss “laughable” transfer decisions

|

A few Everton fans have been discussing who they feel has been the club’s worst signing of the past decade.

Everton have completed more than 70 deals for players to arrive at Goodison Park since the start of the 2010/11 season, with almost £600million spent on permanent and loan transfers.

Among those arrivals included club-record breaking outlays on Romelu Lukaku for £28million, Jordan Pickford, Yannick Bolasie and Michael Keane in a deals worth up to £30m, Gylfi Sigurdsson for £45m and Richarlison for a potential £50m.

Not all players have proven themselves as vital as some of the aforementioned sextet, with Bolasie himself now cast off on loan to Liga NOS side Sporting CP after stints in the Championship with Aston Villa and the Belgian Jupiler Pro League with RSC Anderlecht following an injury-ravished spell on Merseyside.

Antolin Alcaraz

The club have also made further notable disasters in the transfer market when reflected on, with Sandro Ramirez’s £5.2m switch from Malaga in 2017 one mentioned by some of the supporters sharing their thoughts online.

Sandro was brought to the club as a 21-year-old after scoring 14 goals in La Liga the season before, but found the net just once in Royal Blue in 16 appearances. He also endured a 710-day goal drought between scoring his sole effort for the Blues and firing home for loan side Real Valladolid earlier this month.
