Former England and one time Everton striker, Gary Lineker was raving about the performance of left-back Lucas Digne in Monday evening’s Premier League clash against Watford at Goodison Park.
Welcome Javi Gracia’s side to home soil for the tie, the match held extra spice for both manager Marco Silva and Richarlison given their former ties to the club, and Richarlison made that point perfectly as he opened the scoring for us. Second half the match turned in the other direction and they took a 2-1 advantage, but deep into stoppage-time, our former Barcelona fullback hit a sweet freekick to tie the game up and return a point.
Taking to social media following the game, the Match of the Day host was full of praise for the 25-year-old French international as he scored his maiden goal for us.

It’s not the first time Digne has impressed, and he’s already quickly won over the Goodison faithful with his efforts and his attitude towards life at the club, more than showing he’s capable of being the long-term solution to the Leighton Baines debate.
When you factor in he must still be adjusting, there’s every reason to believe he will only get better in time.
