The Word On The Tweet

“Very cunning of Mosh” – Lots of Everton fans hijack club post

|

Lots of Everton fans have hijacked a club post on Twitter to call for Marco Silva to be fired.

The club had taken to the social media platform to share that Everton Direct are running an up to 50% off discount for Black Friday, for any purchase made in-store or online, but priorities were evidently elsewhere for some supporters.

Frustrations have grown once again around Silva’s position in the dugout after we were beaten 2-0 at home to Norwich City last weekend, the second time we have lost to a promoted side at Goodison Park this season.

Silva is now fighting to save his job as key board members met immediately following the Canaries loss, including majority shareholder Farhad Moshiri, Director of Football Marcel Brands, Chairman Bill Kenwright and Chief Executive Denise Barrett-Baxendale

The boss is expected to remain in charge for Sunday’s trip to Leicester City and could be retained for a while longer yet, as it has been claimed that Moshiri cannot find a suitable replacement for the under-pressure Portuguese coach.

Moshiri is under pressure of his own to make the right decision on who next steps into the Goodison Park dugout if Silva is relieved of his duties, as he was the man responsible for appointing Ronald Koeman and later fired the Dutchman after 16 months in charge.

It has also been noted that while David Moyes could offer a safe short-term option, Moshiri is well aware of the likely opposition his return to Merseyside would spark among parts of the fanbase.

Who would you prefer to be in charge?

Silva

Moyes

For lots of supporters, though, they have had enough of Silva and are once again calling for the club to take action, after seeing the Toffees take two wins in our last nine top-flight matches and sit 16th in the Premier League table.
