Everton are fighting to find consistency under the guidance of Marco Silva and the first few months of his tenure at Goodison Park have been varied.
The Toffees are showing signs of improvement though and there are plenty of positives to take, one of which has been the spectacular form enjoyed by Richarlison in the early stages of his time on Merseyside.
The Brazilian ace netted a brace to help Everton secure all three points against Brighton at the weekend, taking his tally for the season to six goals in nine Premier League matches – which has certainly left one renowned pundit eating humble pie.
Back in the summer, per reports from The Liverpool Echo, Paul Merson was highly critical of the £40m fee splashed upon the 21-year-old by Everton to bring him in from Watford – going as far to say the deal has ‘ruined’ the transfer window.
Everton’s social media account quickly reminded him of those comments after the victory over the Seagulls and fans loved it. We have gathered some of the best reactions below.
