Transfer update could scupper Everton hopes of securing blockbuster move

|

With the current break in football continuing to drag on, transfer rumours are naturally getting more attention and plenty are coming out concerning Everton at the moment.

The Blues have been linked with several players in the last few weeks and perhaps that is to be expected when you consider the summer window – when it eventually opens – will be Carlo Ancelotti’s first in charge of the club.

There’s plenty to get excited about around the market, then, and one rumour that is bound to have caught the eye came from 90min around a week ago, that suggested that the Blues would look to try and seal a blockbuster transfer deal for one of Europe’s hottest strikers right now – Ciro Immobile.

The Italian forward has been firing all season and is looking to take Lazio to a memorable Serie A title once the campaign resumes, with the Blues apparently looking keen on trying to get him in the off-season, which would be some statement if they could do it.

However, a report from Calciomercato has perhaps poured cold water on the rumour with them claiming that, arguably expectedly so, that the men from the Italian capital are going to offer him a new contract to try and keep him.

Certainly, the Blues under Ancelotti are going to be an attractive proposition for players in the transfer window, but whether they can prise away a potential league winner gunning for the Champions League next season, remains to be seen.
