Everton’s first team group, Marco Silva and his backroom staff returned to Finch Farm’s pitches on Tuesday for the first training session of the summer and things really pick up now ahead of the coming 2018/19 Premier League campaign.
With Silva and Marcel Brands working hard behind the scenes on sales as we look to trim the group down and then hopefully captures, the entire squad minus our World Cup participants, were back going through their strength and conditioning tests ahead of the heavy fitness work beginning.
To give Everton fans a flavour of the opening day, the club released the following video on their YouTube channel.
With a light-hearted nature to the responses given by the Goodison faithful who took to social media to comment on the stream of Twitter updates the club also provided, here’s a taste of some of the best comments.
The main thing to take from it is that optimism and excitement ahead of the season continues to build and as our transfer plans continue to take shape, I would imagine that will only grow further as the coming weeks now pass, new faces arrive and the big kick-off gets closer day by day.
It also appears a few fans are hoping one man gets a second chance under Silva, and I’m not talking about Davy Klaassen.
Marco Silva wears Copa mundials. Give him a ten year deal now.

Can’t wait to see what Klaassen, Lookman and Sandro can do under a proper coach

If Sandro stays I bet he will be a surprise for us this season, he looked a quality player over in Spain.

Lookman looks happy to be back ????

Interesting to see that the ball is out so early in pre-season training, normally associate this time of year with the players dragging heavy tyres through sand pits!
