Tottenham Hotspur are set to join Everton in scouting Fenerbahce midfielder Ozan Tufan against Galatasaray on Sunday, according to Fanatik.

Staff of the North London outfit are expected to join the Toffees and Sunderland in attendance at the Sukru Saracoglu Stadium this weekend, as each side begin to show increased interest in the 49-cap Turkey international.

Tufan has been a mainstay of head coach Ersun Yanal’s plans this term, having started all 22 of the Yellow Canaries’ Super Lig fixtures to date and captained the side in six of their last seven games.

Yanal is yet to bring Tufan off earlier than the 87th-minute in any of his side’s league matches in 2019/20, having substituted him for the first time this season as Fenerbahce beat Caykur Rizespor 2-1 in December.

The match came amidst the 24-year-old’s most influential spell of the season with four assists and a goal in six games to take his Super Lig tally to two goals and five assists.

His efforts led Fenerbahce chiefs to tie the Bursa-born midfielder to a new three-year contract in December, which includes an option to extend by a further 12-months.

Despite the new terms, Tottenham, Sunderland and Everton are expected to be in attendance for Sunday’s derby between Fenerbahce and Galatasaray, which comes at a pivotal moment of the Super Lig season with the Yellow Canaries outside the European qualifying positions and Cimbom marginally off the lead.

This is not the first time that Everton have been credited with an interest in Tufan, either, as reports earlier in the month claimed club staff have already been in contact with his representatives to discuss the potential of a summer move.

The report also noted interest from Sunderland, as well as Southampton, and claimed Fenerbahce would consider selling the 5 ft 11 central midfielder for €20million (£16.7m).

Despite their asking price, Fenerbahce are thought to be willing to lower their valuation closer to €18m (£15m), although neither sum would likely be an issue for Tottenham given their big-spending nature this season.

Spurs struck a club-record £53.8m deal for Olympique Lyonnais midfielder Tanguy Ndombele last summer, while acquiring Fulham’s Ryan Sessegnon for £25m before turning Giovani Lo Celso’s loan from Real Betis into a permanent deal in January for £27.2m and signing PSV Eindhoven’s Steven Bergwijn for £27m.

In other Everton news, the club have been backed to make a “good acquisition” by landing a €20m rumoured target.
