Loads of Everton fans have been reacting on social media, after Cenk Tosun claimed ‘it is more like a big family’ at Crystal Palace than Goodison Park.
Tosun moved to Selhurst Park on January 10, and will remain in South London on loan for the rest of the season after being offered no assurances by Carlo Ancelotti that he would be awarded regular football on Merseyside had he stayed.
The Turkey forward had rarely featured at Goodison Park this term before heading out on a temporary deal, with Tosun only starting two Premier League games and playing a combined 290 minutes in the top-flight.
He has already started once and played 103 minutes in the league for the Eagles under Roy Hodgson, who fielded the 28-year-old in his opening line-up against Manchester City on Saturday and saw the 42-cap international score the opening goal in a 2-2 draw.
More action is not the only thing to have put a smile on Tosun’s face, though, as the Wetzlar, Germany-born striker has revealed to the Eagles’ matchday programme that he feels he has already joined a family at Palace.
“Family first,” Tosun said, when asked what he’s learnt already about Crystal Palace.
Is Tosun's Everton career over?
Yes
No
“Like at Everton, it is extremely professional and well-organised, but Crystal Palace is more intimate, it is more like a big family where everyone knows everyone.
“I’m so happy that I have joined this family.”
Some Everton fans have reacted to Tosun’s comments by hoping that he never returns to Goodison Park and secures a permanent transfer to Crystal Palace in the summer.
Everton had looked to sell the £27million Sam Allardyce signing last summer, and were open to accepting offers in the region of £20m.
The club held the same asking price for Tosun last January, after he made just six league starts in the opening months of Marco Silva’s inaugural campaign at the helm.
Here are some of the messages shared as fans reacted to Tosun’s comments…
Fingers crossed 🤞 they will sign him then, as he is so slow and not good enough for a team like Everton

That’ll be £27million please lads. Or give us Zaha for £30m and we will call it even

Aren’t we still paying your wages? Poor, on your part.

Good luck to him, hope it works out.

Found his level, happy for him.

Good, hopefully he stays there. Then get rid of some other useless players this Summer. Free up some cash and then go after some real players that can actually make a difference and take Everton to that next level. A rebuild is needed
