The Spanish attacker has been enjoying an excellent run of form on Tyneside in 2019, which has seen the 25-year-old stretch his goal involvement for the campaign to 16 – twelve scored, four assisted across all competitions.
It has also been his best league season in front of goal since joining the Magpies from CD Tenerife in 2014, having never hit double figures for goals in England until firing a hat-trick against Southampton on April 20.
Perez has also been rotated throughout Rafa Benitez’s strike force this season, with 19 games played on the right wing, 14 through the middle – either as the striker or in a support role – and five on the left flank.
The former U21 international, valued at £9million by TransferMarkt, is also only on a £45,000-a-week contract at St James’ Park, which is £25k-a-week less than Sandro Ramirez, £15k-a/w less than Cenk Tosun, and £10k-a/w less than Oumar Niasse.
Some Everton fans, though, would not like to see Perez lining up at Goodison Park next season…
