Everton are demanding an astounding €160million to sell Brazil forward Richarlison during the summer transfer window, according to the Mirror.

The Toffees board are moving to position the club strongly to ward off any potential transfer interest that may arise for Richarlison, after the 23-year-old enjoyed a strong 2019/20 campaign with 15 goals and four assists across all competitions.

Only 14 players found the back of the net more often than Richarlison in the last Premier League season, too, despite the 19-cap international playing 16 of his 36 top-flight appearances from the wings.

His versatility ensured a change of role did not prevent the Blues from firing at the front, either, with Richarlison – who has six goals and four assists for Brazil – lashing home on multiple occasions in every position he played.

Richarlison’s skillset is such that reports suggested Everton knocked back a whopping bid of €100m (£84.5m) from FC Barcelona in January, as former Sporting Director Eric Abidal looked to acquire his long-term target for Quique Setien as an ideal replacement for the injured Luis Suarez.

Those claims of a €100m bid from Barcelona were refuted at the time, but Barcelona would now seemingly have to pay even more to land Richarlison with the Mirror suggesting that an offer of €160m (£144.2m) would be needed this summer.

Is Richarlison worth €160m?

A deal to sell Richarlison for the alleged valuation the Mirror are touting would make the 23-year-old the World’s third-most expensive transfer of all time, eclipsing the €126m (£113.6m) Atletico Madrid paid Benfica for Joao Felix last summer.

The only players who would have cost more than Richarlison would remain Paris Saint-Germain duo Neymar and Kylian Mbappe, who were acquired for €222m (£200.2m) and €145 (£130.7m) plus €35m (£31.5m) in add-ons respectively.

Selling Richarlison for a sum of €160m would represent a profit of more than 188% on the mammoth £50m we paid to Watford, as well, should the Brazilian have triggered all bonus clauses in the initial £35m deal struck in 2018 that Paul Merson claimed “spoiled the window”.

It would also go down as a club record that would take some beating, with Romelu Lukaku’s £90m move to Manchester United in 2017 our current most lucrative departure above John Stones’ £47.5m move to Manchester City.
