‘This is where I’ll be’ – Everton transfer-target makes decision on future, club revealed

Everton’s hopes of signing Aaron Wan-Bissaka this summer have taken a major hit after the Crystal Palace defender reaffirmed his desire to stay at Selhurst Park next season. Wan-Bissaka has a number of clubs battling for his signature after an outstanding Premier League campaign, but it appears he’s content to continue his development with the Eagles.

He told the Evening Standard: “The situation just shows that my performances don’t go unnoticed. But I am with Crystal Palace at the moment. That is where my contract is and that is where I will be next season. I have got three years left on my contract. It says I am going to be there, so that is all I can focus on now.”

Everton were one of many clubs looking to sign the right-back this summer, with Tottenham and Manchester United being credited with an interest. The 21-year-old won the Player of the Season, Players’ Player of the Season and the PFA Community Champion Award at Palace’s presentation night. He was the Eagles’ Young Player of the Season just a year ago too.

In 2018/19, Wan-Bissaka has made 33 Premier League appearances, racking up 2955 minutes of football. The England u21 international has made two assists, 123 clearances, 61 successful dribbles (69%), created 13 chances, won 43 aerial duels (60%), averaged 33 passes-per-game with 73% accuracy, blocked 16 shots and 28 crosses and averaged a tackle (124) or interception (82) every 14 minutes.

Despite playing down any exit talk, Wan-Bissaka could be inundated with offers this summer. Time will tell if he does fend off all interest to stay at Palace.
