With Everton returning to winning ways at Goodison Park as we hosted Fulham last weekend, Gylfi Sigurdsson rightly took the headlines for his efforts and two goals on the day, but Everton fans were quick to highlight the importance of another man for his showing.
Senegalese international Idrissa Gueye hasn’t been at his best so far this year, but in fairness, a number of players haven’t been at their consistent best in 2018/19 but hopes are high that the Fulham performance in the second half will see us click far more moving forward. With Gueye stepping up in the middle of the park to more than play his part in taking the victory, whilst he wasn’t spectacular again – it’s not his game really – he was quietly influential in bossing the game and plenty noticed his efforts on the day.
Special mention for Idrissa Gueye too. If not for Sigurdsson’s two goals, he would have won MOTM easily.

Well that was much much better. Felt very similar to last week at half time in terms of a missed opportunity for Fulham.
Fact that we didn't change anything but tempo was upped so well bodes well.
Idrissa Gueye MOTM ✊ #EFC

Idrissa Gana Gueye is world class.

If Gueye can recapture his better form it will be massive for Everton as we look to significantly improve our season and rack up those wins, and he definitely has a part to play in improving us at the back and making midfield more competitive. Hopefully, we make it two from two later this evening to take a further confidence boost.
