The Blues should be eyeing this former Celtic man more, not a current one

We’ve been linked with a move for Kieran Tierney this summer but I happen to think that we’d be better off going for one of his former team-mates in the window – Patrick Roberts.

I know what you’re thinking; they play in different positions, and they do, but I don’t actually think Tierney is the answer at left-back for us.

Attack-wise, though, I was looking at the fact that Roberts left the Bhoys earlier this summer as he looks for a new challenge and, certainly, he’d be up for a Premier League stint.

Manchester City aren’t going to give him that opportunity, though, so why don’t we make an offer.

We need a bit of pace, guile and creativity out wide and Roberts could certainly provide that, whilst also flourishing under Marco whose technical and tactical knowledge would surely make an impact.

It might only end up being a loan deal but it’s still something I’d really be behind.
