Team News: Everton without four players against Arsenal, defenders & midfielders could return

|

Everton confirm they will be without four players against Arsenal – Jean-Philippe Gbamin (thigh), Andre Gomes (ankle), Morgan Schneiderlin (calf), Theo Walcott (calf).

The Toffees could welcome back a number of first-teamers too, however, after Duncan Ferguson revealed in Friday’s pre-match press conference that Lucas Digne, Djibril Sidibe, Fabian Delph and Gylfi Sigurdsson took part in a light training.

Gbamin has been ruled out until the new year after undergoing surgery on his quadriceps. Gomes will be lucky to return before the season comes to a close after breaking his ankle. Schneiderlin and Walcott are unlikely to return until 2020 after suffering calf injuries.

Everton have endured an injury crisis in midfield, but Delph has returned to training and is nearing a recovery while Sigurdsson may have overcome his illness. The Blues looked thin on options at fullback, but the latest on Digne and Sidibe suggests the pair could be available for Ferguson.

Everton go into Saturday’s meeting with Arsenal off the back of one win and one draw and face a side with only one win in nine. Victory for the Toffees could see them move without a point of the Gunners after 18 games.

What will the result be vs Arsenal on Saturday?

Toffees win

Draw

Gunners win
