Team News: Another boost for Everton as 30-year-old returns ahead of Arsenal clash

|

Everton have already been boosted by the news that Bernard will be fit to face Arsenal, and now the Toffees will have Fabian Delph back in the midfield after he served his suspension. The 30-year-old was handed a one-match ban after being sent off for two bookable offences in Everton’s 3-2 win over Watford (February 1).

Delph missed the Toffees’ 3-1 win over Crystal Palace (February 8) and was replaced by Morgan Schneiderlin who’s impressed of late, so it remains to be seen if Carlo Ancelotti will bring him back into the starting lineup on Sunday. The Everton manager has used both Delph and Schneiderlin in recent weeks, so he’ll have a decision to make.

The 30-year-old has made 19 appearances in all competitions this season. in 15 Premier League outings, he’s made six chances, completed 86% of his 730 passes, won 15 aerial duels (63%), had 21 successful dribbles (81%), blocked 15 shots/passes/crosses, made 15 clearances and averaged a tackle (23) or interception (13) every 31 minutes.

Injuries have depleted Delph’s playing time in his debut season at Everton, but he’s still important in midfield.

What will the result be vs Arsenal on Saturday?
