‘Take the club to heights we haven’t seen’: Many Everton fans react to lofty praise for Blues ace

|

Many Everton supporters have been reacting on social media after I News recited Italy head coach Roberto Mancini hailing Blues striker Moise Kean as being “destined for greatness”.

Mancini has worked closely with the striker, having awarded Kean his senior international debut last November against the United States, and continued to trust the rising star in European Qualifiers against Finland and Lichtenstein – against whom he struck his first goals for Gil Azzurri.

But the Goodison Park faithful are still waiting to see our former Juventus hitman make his first start in Royal Blue, having been a late-game substitute in each of the Toffees opening Premier League fixtures as Marco Silva patiently introduces Kean to top-flight English football.

Silva has so far awarded the 19-year-old just 39 minutes of action, but may change his tune when we take to Villa Park on Friday night for our first encounter with Aston Villa since beating the Birmingham-based outfit 3-1 in 2016.

Doing so would add a player with great quality to our attack in the view of Italy head coach Mancini, who told Rai Sport earlier in the year: “I think Kean is destined for greatness. He is a player with a lot of quality, is improving all the time, and I believe can become a very important player.”

I News reciting the former Manchester City head coach’s lofty praise for Kean has seen Everton supporters rush to social media, with many calling for Silva to bench Dominic Calvert-Lewin.

Others have suggested Silva will, and should, continue to introduce the teenager to the Premier League slowly, and noted how Roberto Martinez and Ronaldo Koeman rushed their new signings into the fold.

Here’s what these Everton fans have shared…
